James works collaboratively with clients to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space where thoughts, feelings, and behaviours can be explored openly. He understands that no two journeys are the same and is committed to tailoring therapy to suit each individual’s needs, values, and preferences.

James grew up in regional South Australia and has lived in various parts of Australia before settling in Frankston, Victoria. This background has shaped his appreciation for the diverse experiences, pressures, and challenges faced by people across different communities and stages of life.

Prior to becoming a psychologist, James served in the Australian Army for over a decade. His time in the military, particularly in leadership roles, provided firsthand insight into the impact of stress, responsibility, and sustained pressure in high-demand, high-stakes environments. This experience has fostered a strong interest in supporting people to build resilience, develop self-compassion, and reconnect with their sense of personal value.
